For all astronaut candidates diving is a must-have skill. It is an essential part of the training process, as it helps astronauts develop the necessary skills and confidence to work in the challenging environment of space. Extravehicular activities (EVA) and working in microgravity environments require astronauts to be comfortable and proficient in underwater environments, which is why space agencies like NASA and ESA use diving as a key component of their astronaut training programs.
